SNOWBOARDINGKeystone, CO - "Bru, I'm going to hit your camera!" @zoomie_arderne yells from the top of the run at Keystone. "Nah, man. The closer you get the better!" I shouted back. Photoshoots with Zoomie capitalized the type of enthusiasm I was looking for this winter. Coming to us from South Africa, he boasts tons of downhill skateboarding experience and a thrill for adventure sports. He was just as stoked as capturing cool images as I was and even as keen on hiking for an hour and a half to find some fresh powder a total run to ourselves. There are certain people who I've met over the passed few years who stick out to me. I'm not sure if creativity sprouts from adventure or adventure sprouts from creativity, but they compliment each other like no other. Is this a photo inspired adventure or an adventure inspired photo?

TRAIL RUNNING RACES
YOGA
CLIFF JUMPINGASPEN, CO - @kaceylopez is my kind of adventurer: willing to jump over narrow river gorges, wake up early to trek to the sunrise, and he brings snacks. Never rush Kacey. One time I told him, “Kacey, we have to leave in 5 minutes to start hiking to catch the sunrise on Peak 9.” He replied, “Ok, I’m going to start cooking soup.” He then proceeded to start cooking a block of frozen soup that his mother had mailed to him from Easter leftovers. Thinking about all my adventures with Kacey makes me laugh. He’s incredibly creative and lives focused in the moment. We began our adventures on the slopes at Breckenridge. He was one of the few people who brought his camera with him on the slopes, that big ol’ wide angle lens he shot with his D90. As the winter melted away and Kacey had returned from his epic cross country trip, we found new ground to cover. Overhearing about cliff-jumping from a fellow co-worker, we staked out a campsite near Green Mountain Reservoir, preparing to take a giant leap, allowing gravity to take control of our free falling bodies and hopefully cradle us in the wet abyss below us. It’s fun documenting each other’s moves. We have time to live in the moment and watch from afar, then switching places. Our latest adventure took us through the brilliantly flashy yellow leaves of Independence Pass’s aspen trees. I don’t normally take photos with other people, but Kacey and I seem to have a similar vision about places. We may have different angles and approaches, but we both know when a location speaks to us.
SAILING
SUNRISE
FULL MOONBoulder, CO - “This reminds me of summer,” explains @cordisimo, “hanging out in some rocks until the sun comes up so I know I won’t die.” This dude is all about giving it a try, and making @salomonrunning look fly. Listening to a Cordis story, caught in a snow flurry you’re bound to end up in a situation most would worry. He runs fast, although not in a hurry. A howling wind pushes us to Bear Peak, as the moon drops to admit defeat. Summits are feats when you run it with feet up a trail that is steep. Full moons make some loose sleep and waking up in the middle of the night. In order to get to the trailhead, “You better ride your bike.” texts Cordis the night before. A challenge accepted, pushing the limits and pedals at 4.
